4 skeins of 4 medium worsted weight yarn in different colors of your choice. (I personally recommend at least having a shade of brown and green to give it the leaves growing on a fence or trellis type of look. But it is completely up to you!)
It takes 4 different skeins to create the square. It takes the following lengths of yarn to make one square:
Color A: 26 yards and 22 inches/ 958 inches/ 24.34 meters/ 2434 cm
Color B: 30 yard and 16 inches/ 1096 inches/ 27.84 meters/ 2784 cm
Color C: 33 yards and 12 inches/ 1200 inches/ 30.48 meters/ 3048 cm
