Aslyn
Looking for a knit that’s a pure joy from start to finish? Enter Aslyn. It’s that perfect balance of interesting and effortless, with textures that flow seamlessly from brim to crown. Engaging enough to keep you hooked, but soothing enough to knit while catching up on your favorite show. And when it’s done? You’ve got a hat that looks polished, feels incredible, and carries that I woke up like this energy. It’s the kind of knit that gets compliments everywhere you go, with people saying, “That hat is amazing! Where did you get it?”—and you’ll get to grin and say, “Oh, this? I made it.”
The Inspiration
It all started during a dream weekend in Victoria, British Columbia—live music, incredible food, and an afternoon spent wandering through Victoria’s oldest yarn store, the Beehive Wool Shop (because obviously). I was there with one of my favorite people in the world—the kind of person who makes every moment brighter, every adventure more fun, and who appreciates handmade gifts like no one else. That’s when she spotted it: a skein of rich, golden yarn, glowing like the late afternoon sun. ☀️ She’s not a knitter, but I could see it—the way her eyes lit up, the way she held onto it just a little longer than necessary. That was all I needed. I just had to offer to make her something with it.
She also happens to love pineapples. So naturally, this golden, textured beauty became affectionately known as her pineapple hat—a little bold, a little unexpected, and a whole lot of fun to wear. And now? It’s all yours to knit.
✨ What Makes Aslyn Special?
✔️ A hemmed, twisted rib brim that seamlessly flows into a striking lattice texture—clean, sophisticated, and a little addictive to knit.
✔️ A crown that blends effortlessly into the design (because no one likes an awkward transition).
✔️ Works like magic in solids, tonals, and variegated or speckled yarns—go classic or go wild, Aslyn can handle it.
✔️ Snug and polished? Cute. A little slouchy? Still cute. This hat doesn’t have a bad angle.
✔️ For extra fun, add a pom pom! A fluffy topper makes it even more playful and eye-catching.
This isn’t just a pattern. It’s a whole vibe. ✨ Clear instructions, polished design, and a project that looks way fancier than it actually is.
