Aspen Fingerless Gloves

The Aspen Fingerless Gloves are a simple and very quick project that pairs perfectly with any of the patterns from the Aspen collection. The entire collection is designed for warmth and functionality. Each piece is made up of crochet ribbing stitches to give them a classic and gender neutral look. They all work up quickly, making them great for gifts or for building craft fair inventory. I used some of the same stitches and design elements in the Cypress collection so that the two collections could be used together to create unique and coordinating sets.

The pattern calls for bulky weight 5 yarn or two strands of
worsted/aran weight 4 yarn. Mine are made with two strands
of Lion Brand Re-Tweed yarn which is a heavier weight 4. It is
labeled a worsted, however, it works up more like an aran
weight. I recommend choosing a heavier weight 5 or aran
weight yarn. Be sure to check your gauge to get a good fit.

A combination of ribbing stitches in these gloves helps shape
them so that the wrists are more snug, insuring a secure fit.
The ribbing also makes them stretchy, so they are one size
fits most. After meeting gauge, the finished size of each glove
should be approximately 8” long, 4 1/2” wide across the hand,
and 3” wide at the wrist..

There are written instructions, as well as photo tutorials for
the foundation single crochet and the foundation half double
crochet stitches. There are also written instructions for
finding the back loop of a stitch, and a photo tutorial for
seaming the edges together.
