Aspen Tee

The Aspen Tee is a design I created to fill a gap in my wardrobe, I really just wanted that staple summer tee that I could wear (and make) over and over again. My partner is from Colorado, and last year we took a trip to Crested Butte during wildflower season. I loved the groves of aspen and the systems of interconnected roots beneath the ground. I wanted to image a classic, homegrown tee that would fit in among the aspen trees.
The Aspen Tee is knit from the top down in stockinette stitch with a drop sleeve and a boxy fit. The tee is cast on at the top of the shoulder using a provisional cast on and then short rows are worked at the front of the shoulder. The tops of the shoulders are connected using a three-needle bind off. The back and front sections are connected under the arms and the rest of the body is knit in the round with faux seam detailing along the side. The sleeves are picked up and knit with short rows at the top of the shoulder to shape the cap sleeve. Two by two ribbing is used along the edges of the sweater.
