Inspired by a walk through the Aspens in autumn, this asymmetric, diagonally knit shawl was designed to show off the colors of nature-inspired hand dyed yarns. Simple textured stitch patterns and an easy repetitive lace pattern come together to evoke a landscape of nature’s beauty.

I am currently kind of obsessed with the elongated triangle shape for shawls. They are easy to wear and drape so well.

• Yarn – One skein for the main color (437yds/100g) and three contrasting colors (140yd/32g each) of fingering weight yarn.
• Needles – US 6 (4 mm) long circular needle to accommodate a large number of stitches, (piece is worked flat), or needle size to obtain gauge.
• Gauge – Approx 18 sts/ 4 inches in stockinette after blocking.
• Finished Size of Shawl – 100 inches (254 cm) on the longest edge & 18 inches (46 cm) at the deepest point.

To best show off the colors of hand dyed yarn, I would recommend using more variegated yarns for CC1 and CC2, and then choose a more tonal yarn for CC3 and the MC. A very busy yarn will compete with the beauty of the lace pattern. Sometimes less is more!

Enjoy and Happy Knitting!!
