Aspen Waves Hat is a slouchy lace beanie knit from the edge up. Its fall and sometimes you just need a lightweight hat to get through the early mornings. This hat is an easy knit. Lace is easy to do as it is a bunch of yarn overs and knit two togethers. The pattern is rated as intermediate and with a couple of new stitches and you are on your way.

The yarn used is fingering weight held together with lace weight = DK. The construction is rim up with a 1x1 twisted ribbing and lace.

Sample Knit: I have made the beanie in using:
1 skein (100g/ 3.5 oz.) of Gingersnap Lush Fingering Yarn in colourway Abloom (75% Superwash Wool/ 75% Nylon); and
1 skein (50g/ 1.75 oz.) of Ancient Arts Delicacy Lace Yarn in colourway Apple Blossom (75% Superkid Mohair/ 25% Mulberry Silk). The yarns are held together.
Substituting other DK yarns would be appropriate as long as you meet gauge.

Difficulty: Intermediate
You will need to know how to cast on, knit and purl stitch, decrease, and some easy lace stitches including yarnovers and knit two together (instructions provided).

Sizes: One Size fits (21-24”/53-61 cm). The hat is easily customizable.
This pattern has been tested.

Dimensions: 21”/53cm around x 10.5”/27 cm tall

Materials Needed:
1 skein (100g/ 3.5oz) of fingering weight yarn, PLUS
1 skein (50g/ 1.7 oz) of lace weight yarn;
OR
1 skein (100g/ 3.5oz) of DK weight yarn
Size US 3/3.25mm 16” circular needles or longer if you prefer Magic Loop or DPNs.
9 stitch markers, including one unique
Row counter (optional)
Scissors
Tapestry needle
