The Aspens in May pattern is an easy beginner friendly crochet pattern for a dishcloth or washcloth, and towel that works up quickly in a meditative one-row repeat. Choose from 3 different washcloth and towel sizes. The subtle texture has an airy quality to promote relatively quick drying, yet it is designed to stand up to hard use and laundering while maintaining its shape retention.

Crochet spa cloths, wash cloths, dish cloths, and towels make an ideal handmade gift for a birthday, hostess, housewarming, or the holidays either alone or as a set. In a spa gift, they are luxurious treat! As kitchen linens, they add a special handmade touch tucked into a charcuterie set or in a coffee, cocoa, or tea lover’s basket. The cloths work up so quickly, that they also make a wonderful craft market item!

Note: Gauge is not critical for this pattern as long as you are not concerned with the precise dimensions. Your own unique tension and especially yarn substitutions may significantly affect your gauge. Dishie, is classified a CYC 4 worsted weight, but I measure it at 14 WPI so it is finer than many worsted weight yarns. Changing hook size or tension are common ways to adjust gauge.
