This Cowl pattern is named after the Asphodel lily, used in the Harry Potter books to reference Lily Potter, Harry’s mother.

The Cowl is a mirrored design, using ribbing, textures, eyelets and mosaic colourwork.

Although it employs lots of different techniques, all of them are straightforward. All of the instructions are written.

Any 4ply or fingering weight yarn can be used to knit this pattern, and although gauge is not crucial, it will affect the yardage of yarn required.

Test knitters used up to 400m of the main colour and 80m of the contrast colours.
