I found these motifs in a 17th century embroidery book, and I liked how the one was straight and regular while the other was twisting and winding. The meandering motif looks like it could be a snake, so I named this cowl Aspideas which is Old English for asp or snake.

Contrast Colour (CC) A&B Fiberworks 4-ply Alpaca 155 m / 110 g (170 yds / 3.9 oz), 1 ball. Colour Orange-Yellow. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
