Asta is a simple scarf worked with a soft and airy combination of wool, alpaca, mohair and silk.
It’s worked back and forth in brioche pattern, with i-cord edges.

YARN
Asta is worked with two strands held together – one strand of wool (yarn A, light fingering weight) and one strand of silk mohair (yarns B1 - B5, lace weight). Yarn A is used through the whole piece, yarn B1 to B5 are used one at a time and create the colourful stripes.

A: Isager Alpaca 2 (50% wool, 50% alpaca, 250 m/50 g), col. E0, white: 3 hanks (approx. 130 g)
B1: Gepard Kid Seta (70% super kid mohair, 30% silk, 210 m/25 g), col. 1009, blue: 1 skein (approx. 15 g)
B2: Filcolana Tilia (70% kid mohair, 30% silk, 210 m/25 g), col. 321, pink: 1 skein (approx. 20 g)
B3: Isager Silk Mohair (75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 212 m/25 g), col. 69, brown: 1 skein (approx. 20 g)
B4: Isager Silk Mohair (75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 212 m/25 g), col. 3S, grey: 1 skein (approx. 20 g)

Each stripe requires approx. 5 g of yarn B – good to know if you wish to use some scrap yarns from your stash.

Approx. 21 x 222 cm (each stripe measures approx. 13 cm)

GAUGE
20 sts x 38 rows (19 visible brioche rows) in brioche pattern, using one strand of yarn A held together with one strand of yarn B = 10 x 10 cm.
The gauge is not crucial for the final result, but differences will affect the finished size of the scarf and the yardage used.
