Apples are ripening, the days are getting shorter, and your hand knit shawls are starting to whisper your name. It’s summer’s end and asters are in bloom.

This sock features elongated stitches that form delicate petals resembling those of asters, September’s flower. The sides of the foot and the back of the leg have a simple seed stitch pattern that lends added texture.

This is a toe-up pattern with a gusset and an Eye of Partridge heel flap. The texture is included in both written and charted versions.
