Astrid
Astrid is worked from the top with increases on both sides of the marked shoulder stitches. When the required shoulder width is reached, the work is divided, and the front and back pieces are worked separately.
After dividing, the pattern is worked according to the chart for the yoke and the body. The body is finished with a high ribbed edge that is finished with Italian bind off.
Stitches are picked up along the armholes and the sleeves are worked from top to bottom. The sleeve cap is shaped with short rows. The sleeves are knitted exclusively in the main color.
Astrid Lindgren was a pioneer in children’s literature and is famous for her magical worlds and characters. In addition to her writing, she was also an active social debater and fought for
children’s rights and well-being. She often took a position on social and political issues and had a strong voice in Swedish and international affairs regarding children and families.
Astrid Lindgren’s work always carry a deep human understanding and strength, which reflects her own personal values and commitment.
Astrid is a short vintage-inspired cardigan, worked from top to bottom in a two-colored pattern. The pattern is worked back and forth, and the raw front hems are hidden inside a closed ribbed front hem.
