Astrid Granny Cowl
Astrid Granny Cowl Pattern
There’s something about winter and a well suited cowl to cozy up to. With this sweet little puff stitch motif-two things happen: warmth and chunk. . It’s design has a retro appeal and the puff stitches give all the cosy-wonderful we want in a winter accessory :)
This pattern is worked up using the Anne’s puff stitch granny square that was used in my “Astrid Pillow Pattern” with a simple crab stitch border to finish.
The pattern uses fingering weight (sock weight) yarn held double (two strands at the same time). This works out to be the equivalent of a DK weight yarn or a light worsted. Any can be used as long as gauge is met! I used a mini skein set from Sewrella yarn, Stellina Sock, 75/20/5% SW Merino/Nylon/Gold Stellina: (587yds/134g) and joined it with a Bare yarn from WeCrochet: Swish DK 100% SW Merino (162yds/66g) and a 5mm hook.
PLEASE NOTE: I DID NOT WRITE OUT COLOUR COMBINATIONS FOR THIS PATTERN. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBSTITUTING YOUR OWN YARN AND COLOUR COMBINATIONS
The final cowl size was: Approximately 10.5” long x 13” wide (or 26” circumference).
Pattern will include:
