Astrid's Flock of birds throw
I love tessellations (a surface using one or more geometric shapes with no overlaps or gaps), and they are not so difficult to draw, until you want these shapes to have a specific shape. Here is one of my first ever tessellations, and I just HAD to crochet it!
Done in interlocking crochet (technique information and photo guide is included in the pattern), using a 3mm hook the finished blanket took approx 1,65k yarn and measures 1,10 x 1,40m. The pattern also comes with instructions and photo guide on how to make the colour changes, as well as a detailed list of all colours used, and how to go about calculating your own colour needs… but can also be done with all birds of the same colour if you wish.
