Astrid's Mellow yellow scarf
It doesn’t happen often, at least not to me, that a yarn colour is given my name. Well, it just did, and I am both honoured and humbled! Scheepjes just launched “Unity”, a Superwash Merino wool and one of the brightest colour in the palette is named after me. “984 Astrid” is now available and of course I had to design something to highlight it. I wanted it wearable to show it off, so I drew a scarf and in it my signature small patterns and curls. To me it will be forever Astrid yellow, but it can be made in any other colour too!
This scarf is done in Interlocking crochet, and the pattern comes with instructions on the technique itself, plus photo tutorials on how to get started. I used around 460g in total, half yellow and half blue. The width is 37 cm and my finished length is 160cm but the pattern tells you about making it shorter or longer, as you wish.
If you are new to the technique, you can find my tutorials with a free downloadable pattern to follow here: Astrid’s Interlocking crochet YouTube channel
