Astrid's mix and match throw
I was originally inspired by both Dutch and Danish houses, all tight shoulder to shoulder, with their somehow majestic height, a fasade full of windows, each with a unique roof, and all in different colours.
When the first block of houses was done, I thought it needed a sky, then a river, then came the flowers… though the first design was to make several blocks with only houses, I thought that it would be fun to make different blocks so that one can mix and match to make a personalised blanket. Or use only one of the blocks for a table runner… or a wall hanger… ok, you got it, the options are endless.
I chose a colourful version. But it can be done in only two, the right choice of colours would make a very elegant blanket! I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did.
My finished blanket measures 110cm wide x 170cm long.
