Astrid's Petal pathway blanket
Astrid’s Petal pathway blanket
I am a bit obsessed with using specific colour packs for making blankets which are more complex than just squares or stripes of each colour. This time I started with Scheepjes 5 Stone Washed colour packs with 10x25g skeins in each, so I had 50 colours to play with It requires enormous work and detail to ensure that each colour does not exceed the amount, it is like reverse engineering a design. There is quite a lot of trial and error to get it right. And once I got it right, it was extremely entertaining and satisfying to make!
Approximate finished size: 1,70 x 1,70m
This blanket is made in interlocking crochet, and the pattern comes with instructions on the technique itself, plus photo tutorials on how to get started and how to make the colour changes.
I included a list of all colours used, and also added a “colouring page” for you to create your own colour scheme.
The blanket took approximately 1500g of 803 Black Onyx, 375g of 801 Moonstone and the remaining 48 colours, max 25g of each.
If you are new to the technique, you can find my tutorials with a free downloadable pattern to follow here: Astrid’s Interlocking crochet YouTube channel
