The tree of life, tree of knowledge or Yggdrasil, is present in many different religions and cultures. Here in Scandinavia, it represents an immense mythical tree that plays a central role in Norse cosmology, where it connects the Nine Worlds. I admit I am not a believer, but when I was looking for a round motif for a blanket, this one fell into place very nicely. Regardless, a tree can always be just a tree.

My finished blanket measures 190cm wide x 220cm long.
