Astrocyte, the neuron’s nanny
Astrocytes are not as famous as neurons, but they are as important as those! Astrocytes are star-shaped cells that take care of neurons: they feed them, protect them, nurture them… They are the nannies of neurons! Surely any biologist or neuroscientist will love this giant, cute astrocyte!
The PDF includes step-by step written instructions and visual references and photo-tutorials to help you, and it is available in English and Spanish.
Level: beginner.
You need to be familiar with the basic stitches used in amigurumis (chains, single crochet (US)/double crochet (UK), slip stitches, increases, invisible decreases, crochet in the back bump of a chain; there are photo-tutorials to learn how to invisible decrease and how to crochet in the back bump of a chain with both right- and left-handed versions, if you need them), and with sewing parts.
Yarn and hooks: You can use any yarn weight you prefer, you only have to choose a suitable hook so you can crochet tight enough so the stuffing does not show.
