CONSTRUCTION NOTES
ASU is a two-tone cropped crew neck sweater with a sideways construction for the torso and picked up sleeves and collar.
NEEDLES + NOTIONS
- US 5 / 3.75mm needles in approx. 32” length (if you do not plan to use the Magic Loop method, you may also need needles in approx. 16” and DPNs for working smaller circumferences)
- US 3 / 3.25mm needles in approx. 16” length for rib
- crochet hook in comparable size
- stitch markers
- tapestry needle
- scrap yarn in a contrasting color
GAUGE
Using US 5 / 3.75mm needles, in stockinette after blocking: 26 st x 20 r = 4” x 4” / 10cm x 10cm. Always use needles that will allow you to achieve gauge.

SIZING + YARDAGE
Asu is designed to have approximately 6 – 8” / 15 – 20cm positive ease, meaning it is meant to measure 6 – 8” / 15.25 – 20cm more than your chest measurement at its widest. Size up or down for a tighter or looser fit.
To increase the length of your garment, CO additional stitches when knitting the torso, using the gauge as a guide for desired total length (e.g. to add +2” / +5cm, CO +13 sts). Be aware that adding length will increase your total yardage and materials needed.
