I have made this pattern free as it is not size-inclusive. I no longer have much time to write patterns and do not have the time or skill to make this particular pattern inclusive sizewise.

This pattern was featured as a finalist in the 2014 Love Knitting Britain’s Next Top Knitwear Designer Competition

This garment is knitted as a single piece with sections worked flat in garter stitch and worked in the round in stockinette.

This garment is one size due to the nature of the design. It has a large kimono style arm on one side with a lot of drape. This means the garment can accommodate a 42” chest. This garment is designed to best suit some positive ease. The size mentioned in the pattern should suit a UK size 10-16 but result in a slightly different look. With this in mind, I have included two size variations that should accommodate a larger range of sizes.

Size variations:
The number of rows is what is important in obtaining the size across the chest. The garment knitted in DK can accommodate up to about a UK size 16. If a different size is needed I recommend switching yarn weight and needles, therefore, knitting fewer stitches and rows to the cm or more rows and stitches per cm.

For example:
Larger Size (47” chest)
If this garment was knitted in Aran weight, on size 5.0mm needles you could obtain a gauge of 18 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm.
This would result in a garment that would accommodate a 47inch chest, a UK size 20-22.

Medium Size (40” chest)
If this garment was knitted in DK weight, on size 4.0mm needles you could obtain a gauge of 20 sts and 40 rows to 10 cm.
This would result in a garment that would accommodate a 42-inch chest, a UK size 14-18. This is the one pictured, my dummy is a UK 16, but I wear this as a UK 18 (42-inch chest).

Smaller size (35” chest)
If this garment was knitted in 4 ply yarn, on size 3.5mm needles you could obtain a gauge of 24 sts and 48 rows to 10 cm.
This would result in a garment that would accommodate a 35inch chest, a UK size 10-12.

If following either of these variations it may be necessary to adjust the length, details of this are included in the pattern.
