Asymmetrical Vest
Style : Asymmetrical Shell
By Rebekah Younger of Younger Knits
Description - An asymmetrical neckline sleeveless pullover with drop stitch detailing, knit sideways on Bulky Gauge Machine in plating stitch with contrasting yarns in Linen and Bambu. All trims are knit in solid Black using both Linen and Bambu. This finished garment combines the softness and drape of Bambu fiber with the stability and lightness of Linen.
The relaxed neckline is shaped using the natural roll of the knit fabric. The sweater is knit from the off-center color change of the body on the front out to sides. The back is knit from side to side. The three separate color block areas (2 on front and one on the back) can be customized in any combination of colorways. Then the front and back are sewn together at shoulder and side seams. This is a great style for using up end lots of Bambu yarn or even Linen due to small amounts needed for color blocking. For those comfortable with dyeing, consider knitting it all in B & W and then overdyeing the entire piece, after joining the shoulder seams and adding armhole trim, in a subtle gradient of color from hem to shoulder for a totally unique look.
