At Joyce's
When my sister in law brought me a very nice skein of yarn from Paderborn in Germany, where she went for a holiday, I knew at ounce what to make out of it. Some months before, I was allowed to take pictures from a beautiful hand knitted baptism gown from a colleague. I
took several detailed pictures too to figure out the lace panel pattern. It looks like little tulips upside down, yet I could not find it in my knitting dictionaries….
Her grandmother knitted it, being emigrated from the Netherlands to Canada, and now my colleague made her way back to the Netherlands together with this beautiful gown. In the Netherlands a lot of lace was knitted during pre war and war times.
As I was knitting this lace panel pattern in cuff down socks, the tulips turned upside up…. The pattern is easy adjusted to another size as one pattern repeat is just 8 stitches.
Made a failure in writing down the 7th row of the stitch pattern. It should read: yo, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, yo, k1
I used 65 grams of the skein used i.e. about 260 meters for size 39.
