A lace pattern for the Goddess, but versatile enough that mortal men and women can wear it with pride.

This pattern is written instructions only, there is no chart.

The Orange Athena is done in DK weight on size 12 mm needles.
The Lavender is done on 12mm with Kollage Luscious Yarn a cotton/nylon blend. I suggest leaving about two feet of tail on beginning and end of pattern for this kind of yarn that is a cotton blend, then do a 5 single crochet cluster at corners where the tail is and weave in the ends inside the crochet cluster. This will give you a clean finished look.

Gauge is 12 inches by 40 lying flat unblocked at 15 repetitions of the pattern, but you kind of have a lot of freedom in this depending on how big or small you want the shawl. You may desire to block it lightly and not stretch it like I did and it will be perfect as well. Size is kind of up to you, depending on the needle size, and the length you want to make. If I was making this for a little girl I would have used less repetitions of the pattern than for an adult .

I am hoping to make more than this one, and I want you to know that anyone, men or women can make this pattern and wear it. It is made with the Goddess in Mind, be your own Goddess and name it after you. Enjoy the journey.

I like rectangular shawls and this is what I offer you, there is a Theme of the Goddess Athena linked to this Shawl, I hope you enjoyed your mythology studies. This was fun to make, you can use a variety of different yarns, just have to make sure that your needles is way bigger than the yarn calls for , like 2 to 5 sizes bigger.
