Atlantica is a relatively quick & easy knit -- suitable for knitters of all skill levels from advanced beginner to any knitter looking for a quick yet relaxing project.

Designed to reflect the deep blue ocean and rolling waves as they gather, rise, and crash on the shore, Atlantica is a lovely shawl you’ll enjoy knitting during any season of the year. From the garter tab cast on, the shawl quickly grows outward with row after row of soothing garter stitch. Ruched stripes (waves!) increase in width and length as the shawl grows until they splash onto the shore in a simple yet graceful lace that can be blocked into either sharp points or gentle rolling waves.

Finished Measurements: approx. 50” wide across top edge & 20.5” from top center to bottom edge, gently blocked.

Yarn Requirements: approx. 750 yards (2 skeins) Willow Tree Yarn Casual Sock 4-ply (463 yds./100g, 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon) or other fingering yarn of choice. Colorways used for sample: (MC) Serenity & (CC) Wave Watching.

Gauge: 8 sts & 18 rows = 2” in garter stitch, blocked.

Needles & Notions: US 4 (3.5 mm) 36” circular needle or size to obtain gauge, 20 stitch markers, yarn needle, blocking materials.

Stitches/techniques: This is a fairly straight-forward pattern using basic knitting techniques such as garter Tab CO, K, P, K1fb, K2tog, SSK, M1, YO, BO, and weaving in ends. Instructions are written; the lace is both written and charted.

Tips for shaping/blocking and a link to a garter tab tutorial are included.
