Atlas Cowl
Ideal for confident beginners, this cowl is simpler to work up than it looks. If you can chain stitch, double crochet, treble crochet and slip stitch, you can make this cowl. If you’re a complete beginner but still want to give this pattern a go, tutorial videos for each of the stitches are included on the dedicated pattern guidance page of our website, plus a how-to video for the pattern is in the works.
Help and guidance for this pattern can be found at https://stonewearpatterns.com/pattern-guides/atlascowl/
The cowl is completed by crocheting a row in one colour, placing a stitch marker in the loop and then crocheting the next row in the contrasting colour. Only when both colours have been crocheted in one direction do you then turn the cowl over. It is worked flat and then seamed during finishing.
You will need one stitch marker and two contrasting colours of yarn to work up this pattern. If you are using the suggested yarn (Kaos Yarns Chunky Andean Wool), you will need one 50g ball of each colour to make the cowl.
This is a one size pattern and the finished item should be 28cm tall with a circumference of 68cm after blocking.
