If you love lace patterns, this Jumper is for you! Get ready to enjoy an amazing Japanese Lace & Cables pattern. Indulge in an impeccable experience worthy of yourself. Use the yarn recommended for best results….not yarn from your stash. Awaiting the Berroco Vintage package, I tried out my design using local yarn. (The local yarn is fuzzy, can grow to 2 sizes larger after a wash, and was fine only as a trial. Socks made with it are only fit to be used as Christmas Stockings now, and I am not joking!) As an alternative, if you don’t like Berroco Vintage, I recommend using a solid colour of Berroco yarn, which isn’t fuzzy, so that it shows off the stitch definition of the Japanese Lace & Cables Pattern.
It’s worked in the round, bottom up, till the armholes. Then I worked the top of the Front in rows and the top of the Back in rows, separately. The sleeves are worked similarly to minimize stitching. The neck band folds over to give a neat finish! I used special Japanese stitches: KTBL Knot St Rt and K2Tog Knot St Rt, which taught me something new. It’s like the red shoes of Dorothy, or like an experience as if you went down the rabbit hole like Alice! Enjoy this pattern as the mystery unfolds with every stitch.
