Attack of the Killer Rabbits Cowl is a loop cowl. It can be worn long tucked into the collar of a coat, or doubled for extra warmth. Very unisex in design, you can make it more masculine or more feminine with your color choices.
Why call it the Attack of the Killer Rabbits? The polka-dots of the slipped stitch pattern look like bunnies, neatly lined up in ranks and I am a Monty Python fan from way back.
The colorwork is arrived at using basic stripes and slipped stitches. You only work one color in each round. This cowl would be a good first foray into slipstitch colorwork and/or knitting in the round.
Stitches used in the pattern: knitted cast on, k, p, kfb (increase), k2tog (decrease), sl1 wyib (slip 1 purl-wise with yarn in back), traditional bind off, knitting in the round.
Finished size when lightly steam blocked is 42 inches circumference by 8.5 inches width (107 cm circumference by 21.5 cm width).
The pattern includes complete abbreviated row-by-row written instructions as well as fully charted directions.
