Single Skein Version: 1 skein SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock in Old Spruce (425 yd / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g blank; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon).
Two Skein Version: 2 skeins SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock in Mellow (MC) and Tangerine (CC) (425 yd / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g blank; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon).
Sock Blank Version: 1 SweetGeorgia Sock Blank in Old Flame (425 yd / 388 m per 4 oz / 115 g blank; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon).
Party of Five Version: 1 SweetGeorgia Yarns Party of Five set in Whisper (105 yd / 96 m per 1 oz / 28 g mini skein; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon).
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Size 6 US / 4 mm circular needle, 24” (60 cm) long
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Tapestry needle
GAUGE
17 sts and 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Fan Pattern, blocked and stretched.
Please note that changes in gauge will affect yardage used and final measurements.
PATTERN NOTES
This shawl is worked sideways from point to edge, increasing gradually on one side. There are four versions to choose from:
Single Skein: Disregard any colour changes.
Two Skeins: Choose one colour for MC and one colour for CC.
Sock Blank: Wind the blank into a center-pull ball. Choose one end for MC End and the other end for CC End.
Party of Five: Choose the Colours for A, B, C, D, and E. The pattern uses the Whisper set as Colour A (Sapphire), Colour B (Bluebell), Colour C (Lupine), Colour D (Iris), Colour E (Empress).
The Fan Patt is both written (see Stitches Used) and charted (see p 4) for your preference.
