au-delà pullover
au-delà is a lightweight sweater using one skein of fingering yarn (430 yards) and one to two skeins of mohair (430 yards), or one Halo Bundle that combines a merino fingering with silk mohair, with the fabric alternating between a strand of the merino and a strand of mohair held together and a single strand of mohair in stripes for textural variance and lightness.
Design details include wide, draping sleeve ‘wings’ with taper for effect and unencumbered movement, as well as an optional lace panel that may be used as part or whole of the sleeves.
Though originally designed for maximum use of fleece artist handmaiden Halo Bundles, one bundle of which includes both merino wool fingering weight and mohair at ~430 yrds/400m, the yarns may be substituted with two types of yarn of contrasting weights, making it an ideal stash buster project.
au-delá is a fun, quick and versatile knit project, easily adaptable for a range of sizes and yarn composition. With wool and mohair, it can be worn as a lightweight layer in colder weather; with silk/bamboo/linen/cotton blends it can be worn as a stylish coverall on the beach. The sleeves may also be omitted altogether for an elegant sleeveless top.
Suggested needle size for fingering + mohair: 9.5mm
