Although this pattern is designed as a shawl for a child it also works as a shawlette for a small adult.

The lace in this shawl is so easy it is a great project for a person wanting to learn lace. Lace is usually best with natural fibers, but this pattern works well with the washable acrylic blends. The shawl just needs a little steam at the end.

The shawl begins at the neck and after the increases are completed the lace is worked with no additional increases. During the lace portion of the shawl all wrong side rows are purl across the complete row, except the seed stitch edge. This shawl is seamless, so there is no sewing.

The lace in the pattern is charted and written.

After Blocking Measurements:
Center back / 11” - 12”
Bottom edge, end to end / 60”
Measurements can vary depending how much you stretch the shawl as you block or steam.

Materials:
• Worsted Weight Yarn: 300 - 350 yards
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle

Needles Used:
• US 8 (5.0mm) circular 32” (80cm) or longer
• US 9 (5.5mm) double point – for bind off

Gauge:
• 2 inches = Approximately 9 stitches and 12.5 rows
Producing the desired fabric is more important than obtaining
an exact gauge. Adjust yardage accordingly.

Techniques Used:
• Basic lace – stitches used are knit, purl, yo, k2tog, ssk.
• Increases are M1L and M1R
