Yarn: Aran weight yarn. Photographed in Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran. You will need 2 (2 : 2 : 2 : 2 : 3) 100g balls or 212 (244 : 274 : 319 : 360 : 405) metres.
Alternative yarns can be used, including Stylecraft Special Aran, Sirdar Snuggly Supersoft Aran, King Cole Big Value Aran.

Needles: 4.5mm circular needle (or size to obtain tension) - 60cm long. You will knit straight on the circular needle due to the length.

Gauge: 18sts x 36 rows = 10cm / 4in in garter stitch on 4.5mm (US 7) needles.
