August hat (me)
The August hat is started with a tubular cast on, which makes the cast on edge neat and stretchy, although instructions are provided for the long tail cast on method as well. The cable pattern is both charted and written.
This version of the August hat is intended for adults. There is also a kid-size version of this hat available in my Ravelry store.
Size
One size
For head circumferences of 54–58 cm / 21–23 inches
Finished circumference: 54 cm / 21 inches
Length with brim folded double: 25.5 cm / 10 inches
Yarn
Note: The hat uses a strand of worsted weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight yarn, but they can be substituted for a single strand of aran weight yarn. If you wish to work an aran weight version, omit all the instructions where it says “hold the yarns together” and follow only the yarn amount requirements for the worsted weight yarn.
