Aulacodiscus Grevilleanus

Aulacodiscus Grevilleanus is a triangle shawl worked sideways featuring star lace and garter stitch.
This pattern has been inspired by the illustration of the species Diatomea (Slide #4: Triceratium, No. 13) in Ernst Haeckel’s book Kunstformen der Natur.
It is part of the Knitting Art Forms of Nature project.
