Auld Toorie
Heritage is J&S’s new worsted spun yarn developed in conjunction with the Shetland museum. It reproduces the colours and yarn of long ago. So here is a hat using stitch patterns taken from some of the oldest pieces in the museum on Fair Isle itself, in a shape used for a very long time.
The hat is worked in the round, starting with a facing, then the main hat. There are individual color charts for each of the three sizes which also work when printed in black and white.
The pattern needs 1 x 25 g ball each of three colours, photographed in Indigo, Peat and Auld Gold.
