Aurora Borealis mittens
This pattern is inspired by the northern lights that apear around the poles. They´re often seen on clear cold winter nights. They´re created when charged particles hits atoms and molecules in our atmosphere.
The most common light is green, but there´s also red and blue.
There´s a lot of old stories and tales about the norther nights, I´ll leave that for you to discover.
There´s a Latvian braid in the beginning of the mittens. It´s a bit challenging, if you can´t make out my description, there are some great tutorials on the internet just search for ”how to make a latvian baid”.
You can also alter the size of the mitten by using bigger or smaller needles.
Finished meassures of the mitten is: 19 cm width, 14 cm to the thumb and 13 cm from the thumb to the top. The thumb is 6,5 cm.
Have fun knitting and I really hope you like the pattern.
