INSPIRATION
Inspired by the stunning gradient of colours that appear in the Sky during the Northern Lights, otherwise known as the Aurora.
I have used 3 strands of DK yarn held together, carefully blended to create a seamless and stunning gradient of colours which flow down the poncho and out across the arms. I selected a range of warm Stylecraft Special DK tones for the original, then a mermaid inspired selection of Yarnsmiths Create DK for the ‘Ariel’ colourway. I hope this pattern will encourage you to create your own gradient in your favourite shades, by selecting 6 shades of your choice (2 balls of each) ordering them and labelling them A - F. Please see the next page for yarn details.
I originally designed this pattern for Crochet Now magazine issue 102, and was absolutely thrilled to see it featured on the front cover. I have updated the pattern with step by step photos and more detailed instructions and tips as well as a US terms version.
I hope you enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed creating it! I love to see your makes, so please share with me in Instagram: @the_burrow_uk or upload your photos to the project page.
