Austice
Austice is named for a moment that knitters everywhere know well: “a wistful omen of the first sign of autumn - a subtle coolness in the shadows, a rustling of dead leaves abandoned on the sidewalk, or a long skein of geese sweeping over your head like the second hand of a clock.”
-The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows
With squish-worthy texture and a perfectly wearable shape, Austice is the shawl that I’ve been reaching for again and again as the seasons shift here in New England.
Austice is an asymmetrical triangular shawl, knit from side to side with DK weight yarn. Ridges of slipped stitches sweep across the main fabric of the shawl. The crisp traveling lines of the border are created with twisted stitches - no cable needle required. Austice is a relaxing knit, with memorizable stitch patterns and long stretches without a purl stitch in sight!
The pattern includes both written and charted instructions, for your knitting preference.
