Australian Dingo Puppy
Dingo puppies are clever and cute.
Here is your chance to make your very own toy version. The dingo plays a very important role in the Australian Eco-system, Dingoes are being killed in the wild because of their perceived damage to agriculture. However, killing dingoes removes them from the critical weight Eco-system, allowing feral foxes and cats to continuously increase the rate of mammal extinction.
This is a flat knit pattern; circular needle is used to accommodate stitch numbers more easily.
Size: About 25 cm (10 “) in height and 40 cm (16 “) in length.
Materials: DK weight yarn, pure wool, Schachenmayr Merino Extra Fine 120 m per 50 g
100 g Kamel (Light Tan) Main Colour 00105
50 g Natural 00102
50 g Schwarz (Black) 00199, remnant only required
50 g Teint ( Pink) 00124, remnant only required
50 g Gellgrau ( Grey) 00190, remnant only required
50 g Marone ( Rust) 00110, remnant only required
Knitting needles: 3 mm ( US 2.5) Circular 60 cm long, as well as two 3 mm ( US 2.5) DPN’s 15 cm long
removable stitch markers
waste yarn or stitch holder
toy stuffing
darning needle
long pins
Tension/ Gauge: This is not of critical importance. The most important consideration is to use a needle size smaller than recommended for the chosen yarn, to achieve a tight knit fabric, so that it can be stuffed firmly.
Using DK weight yarn and a 3 mm needle will result in about 26 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm (4”) square.
