Autopilot is a versatile pattern that requires minimal yarn but delivers a big impact.

The fabric is reversible, featuring soothing garter stitch and captivating eyelet details that you can modify to make the shawl your own.

You can use nearly any yarn to create this shawl—whether it’s Fingering, Sock, DK, or even heavier yarns like Worsted or Aran.

The pattern includes guidance on gauge, needle size, and the minimum amount of yarn needed for each weight, but feel free to experiment and create your perfect fabric.

The design is flexible, allowing you to keep adding new repeats until your yarn runs out. It’s ideal for using up small amounts of precious yarn or for making thoughtful gifts.

Construction: This shawl is worked flat and sideways, starting on one tip. Asymmetrical increases create an almost symmetrical triangle shape. There are two sets of instructions in the pattern: one to create a shawl just like the sample, and another set that allows you to create your own shawl.

Techniques: garter stitch, (k1, yarn over, k1) into same stitch, k2tog, yarn over.
