Autumn Bloom Hat was inspired by the beautiful fall colors adorning my corner of the world this October. It is a one-size-fits-most adult hat knitted in bulky weight yarn on sizes 11 and 13 needles. I

It makes a great introduction to stranded color work as there are never more than 2 colors per row and no floats longer than 5 stitches! The color combinations you can choose are endless and its easy to make the hat have more slouch by simply adding more rows after the chart before starting the decrease section.

I used Hue + Me by Lion Brand Yarns, but any bulky (5) weight yarn will do. You will need 4 colors with the approximate yardage below:

Main Color (Cement)-- Approx. 1.3 oz/39-45 yards

CC1 (Arrowwood) -- Approx. .3 oz / 9-12 yards

CC2 -- Approx. .6 oz / 16-19 yards

CC3-- Approx. .2 oz/ 5-8 yards

If you purchase 4 new skeins of yarn, you’ll be able to make several hats by switching up your color placement on each one.
