Autumn Color Fair Isle
From Schoolhouse Press:
A master of color, Betts designed this striking Fair Isle with 18 shades of Shetland Spindrift wool. It was the cover piece for the magnificent book, Sweaters From Camp. Now with expanded directions for the SPP, this saddle-shoulder cardigan features: sleeve-cap shaping, full-color ribbed border bands, neck and shoulder shaping. A challenging and rewarding knit for any Fair Isle lover. Full charts and color assignments.

From Betts Lampers:
This circular, set-in saddle cardigan is an adaptation of an Elizabeth Zimmerman design in her book, Knitting Workshop, and a class on the subject I took from Joan Schrouder. I found the construction method quite intriguing: the body is worked to the underarm and set aside; then the sleeves are knitted to the underarm. The three pieces are joined and the armhole and neckline shaping are worked within the fabric as you go along and the saddle is knitted onto the raw stitches of the body. Constructing a sweater in this way eliminates sleeve steeks and when you complete the sweater most of your finishing work is done.
Also available as a stand-alone pamphlet for $10. Print version comes in a 3-hole, archival quality sheet protector.
