A quick knit in toasty, warm aran weight yarn, Autumn Flora features a twisted ribbing that diminishes into pointed arches that, in turn, trail into the body of the hat before transforming into the stems of large, oval leaves.

Autumn Flora features a soft, comfortable fit with good coverage for warmth. Not beanie tight, but not slouch loose either.

This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.

INSTRUCTIONS

The pattern is charted, but also includes complete written directions so the ability to read a chart is not necessary to work this pattern.

Gauge is critical on this project. The stated gauge is a BLOCKED gauge, so if you are getting this gauge UNBLOCKED, you may need to go down a needle size. If you are a loose knitter and don’t always check gauge, I encourage you to do so on this project or use a smaller needle size to start.

NOTE: I do not recommend working the twisted stitches as regular, untwisted stitches as aside from altering the entire appearance of the design, it may alter the size of your ribbing, making it too large/loose.

Blocking is essential for a successful finished project, though you will not want to block the ribbing portion of the hat.

YARN NOTES

An aran weight yarn with good stitch definition and little to no halo is recommended.

Tonals will work, but highly variegated yarn may distract from the lace pattern.
