Autumn Foliage Cardi-Coat
This lovely cardigan is worked from the center out. First the waistband is knitted in a long strip with a twisted stitch pattern that helps to make your waist appear narrower.
Once the waistband is completed, stitches are picked up along one long side and worked up for the bodice. Afterward stitches are picked up along the other side of the waistband and worked down for the bottom half.
Sleeves are worked in the round on dpns up to the sleeve cap and then worked flat for the sleeve cap shaping.
The sleeve caps are seamed to the armholes and then the sweater is completed.
The edges are all left to roll--no borders to pick up and knit at the end--so this sweater goes surprisingly fast.
The deep v neckline makes this a great piece for layering.
The yarn used is perfect for a fall sweater. It reminded me of a big old oak tree in autumn….greens, golds, rusts…and hints of blue peeping out here and there. Beautiful.
