This is a pattern for a crochet granny square (block), which can be used for a variety of projects such as table runners and table clothes, bed covers, baby blankets, etc.

I made these granny squares with mercerized 100% cotton yarn (category 2) and a size E (3 MM) hook.

The finished size of my granny square was 5 by 5 inches.

You can use other yarn or thread and a corresponding size hook for your project. The finished size of your squares will be different.

This a written pattern for the square and instructions on how to join the squares (“as you go” in the last round of the square). I also made a detailed video tutorial (the link to the video is included in the pattern).

The skill level is beginner. This is a very easy project!
