This hip-length cardigan was inspired by the swathes of richly coloured, autumn leaves covering the ground. My aim was to create a comfy cardigan that’s easy to slip on, but also well shaped and elegant.
The cardigan is seamlessly knitted top-down. The autumn leaves pattern adds a very subtle increase to the front edge, giving a slightly flared waist for comfort. The casual matching belt gives a flattering waistline and is held in place by the highly distinctive crossed-leaves belt loop at the back. Simple, comfortable and stylish, this is a cardigan you won’t ever want to take off!

Tension
22 sts and 32 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using 4mm needles.
Please adjust needle sizes to obtain correct tension if necessary.

Needles & Accessories
For the body and edging use the following needles:
1 set of 4mm (UK 8/US 6) cir needles
1 set of 3.75mm (UK 9/US 5) cir needles

For sleeves, use the following needles. If you can work the Magic Loop method with cir needles, you don’t need DPNs (Note that you do need larger DPNs for the i-cord):
1 set of 4mm (UK 8/US 6) DPNs
1 set of 3.75mm (UK 9/US 5) DPNs.

Pattern Notes
The main body is worked flat, with a cir needle used to accommodate the large number of stitches and curve of the raglan. Sleeves are worked in the round using DPNs. If a cir needle is used to work the sleeves, use the Magic Loop method where necessary.
The chart shows RS only - WS rows are purled except for DM10 at beginning and end.
