This shawl is crafted from the top down, crocheted using basic stitches to create something unique & feminine. It uses worsted weight yarn, meaning it works up quickly and lends a warmth to it that other shawls rarely possess. This pattern is fully written and also includes a charted section for the lace panel. The upside down pineapple shape (or an autumn leaf, if you will) repeats 3 times down the back, and is then carried into the edging, lending the shawl a whimsical and delicate touch.

The length across the top when laid flat is 62” (157.5 cm) and the depth down the middle back is 32” (81 cm).

The sample product used Lion Brand’s Heartland, 2 skeins.

This pattern is tested and ranked for adventurous beginner crocheters. The stitches used are basic, but following the overall lace pattern will be easier with some experience.

Notes:
Yarn: Worsted weight yarn with a good drape, ~500 yards. Suggested yarn brands: Caron Simply Soft, Lion Brand Heartland, Red Heart Soft, Knit Picks Brava. Yarns with a drape and soft sheen will make this shawl shine!

Hook(s): J (6 mm), or hook to match yarn as desired. (Changing yarn/gauge will change final shawl size.)

Notions: Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
