Autumn Neck can be made in 3 different sizes, and you choose your size based on how wide you prefer the front/back piece. The 3 sizes also have different lengths, with a 2 cm difference in length between each size. The light brown neck is a size 1 (with a slightly shorter length of the neck itself than the stated measurements in the pattern), and the sand-coloured one is a size 2. Both sizes are worn by a model with a shoulder width of approx. 38 cm.

The neck is casted on with Italian cast on-technique and worked in double rib from the bottom up (of the back piece) with increases on each side over the first couple of needles. At the neck, stitches are put on hold on a thread/wire for the neck opening, which will continue to be knitted at a later stage. From here, the left and right shoulders are worked separately, with increases that form a rounded neck opening. The work is then gathered and worked down over the front piece with decreases on each side to narrow the very bottom of the piece. At the neckline, stitches are picked up and worked in a double rib and finished with an Italian cast-off. The neck is wide and comfortable, and absolutely perfect for cold days.

The necks in the pictures are made in Eco Cashmere Vintage from Gepard Yarn in the colors Nougat and Latte.
