Autumn Shopping Cowl
This is my crochet stash buster rainbow cowl. I had lots of colours of double knit yarn and worked out that I could just about make a rainbow. So that is what I designed, making a small square and joining as I went. The cowl I made is 3 squares wide by 11 long, which for me it is a perfect size. I like to wear cowls when out shopping in autumn and winter, they keep me warm and don’t fall off every time I bend down to look at something!
Whilst I used 33 motifs in total, this cowl can be made to any size with any combinations of colours. You could just use up all your scraps of dk yarn and make a beautiful warm cowl which holds lots of memories – mine makes me remember just what I made with each of the colours.
The finished cowl is approx. 20cm (8”) wide by 80cm (32”) around.
The motif could be used in any project with any weight of yarn (just use the correct hook size). I found it addictive, and I can imagine it in a massive stash busting blanket too !
The pattern is written in English and US crochet terms, and the motif is charted.
