Auxo is one of the Horae in Greek mythology. As a summer goddess, she represents growth, but also stands for waiting (for the harvest) and for patience. Therefore, she is almost predestined as namesake for this shawl. It is crescent-shaped and grows quickly in width without gaining much height. After all, it’s more like a scarf to wear.

The pattern consists of a simple tuck stitch, which is worked over several rows. The special eye-catcher is the final edge, in which a multitude of nubs are stringed together.

For the choice of yarn and color you can rely on your own taste and creativity (the best choice for the body might be lace or fingering). The only restriction: The yarn for the final edge should be significantly thicker than that for the body of the shawl. Otherwise the nubs would lack prominence.

Deshalb ist sie als Namensgeberin für dieses Tuch geradezu prädestiniert. Das sichelförmige Tuch wächst schnell in die Breite, ohne dabei viel an Höhe zu gewinnen. Zu tragen ist es schließlich auch eher wie ein Schal. Das Muster besteht aus einem einfachen tuck stitch, der über mehrere Reihen gearbeitet wird. Der besondere Blickfang ist die Abschlusskante, bei der sich eine Vielzahl von Noppen aneinanderreiht.

Bei der Wahl von Garn und Farbe sind eigenen Vorlieben und Kreativität (fast) keine Grenzen gesetzt. Einzige Einschränkung: Das Garn für die Abschlusskante sollte deutlich dicker sein als das für den Tuch­körper, damit die Noppen deutlich hervortreten.
